So after being the first of our 3 piece to note that we hadn’t done anything in a while and our lead singer/guitarist had disappeared, i decided to rebuild the band, but as a 5-6 piece set.

I decided that picking the individuals would be a hard task. What i plan on creating is a small set of musicians, who’s most powerful trait is not actually the music. I want a team with heart, and willingness to play and learn and improve, but most importantly i want a team of characters. I don’t care what network they live inside (be it goth, town, skater, geek, stoner, whatever), I just want each one to be a big fish in their particular pond.

I realise that there may be conflict between people, but if all get together with the music then i figure everything will be ok.

I have hand picked the finest i know, who were available to get involved. I’ll be using my usual technique of running the show under my teams very eyes. This way i can have the lead singer set the feel for his songs, have the lead guitarist freestyle to his hearts content creating blinding riffs over the top (competing against the singer) and have a drummer also battling for supremacy. I have a rhythm guitarist who will have great ideas but a more passive nature when fitted with the other 3 giants meaning that he will play along but boost the others with drive. And finally myself. The passive Bass man who will play anything as long as it works I’ll also contribute lyrics and ideas over the top and deliver the bands entire branding and promotion. I’ll be the nice face that has the contacts, drive and connections but on stage i’ll always remain hidden behind the ‘Faces’.

I plan to start us on a set of 7 covers to get us working together. They will cover all the group areas of the band thus bringing in their groups for crowd.  I’ll test their creativity and vision by having a buzz word in practice, and getting everyone to describe that word with their instrument. There may be conflict. People may give in, and i’ll be ok with that. I have a list of players ready to take positions, and i expect only the strongest and most willing to survive.

I wish for this band to be more about the ‘look’ and ‘feel’ rather than the actual content. I want the people to dance to our tune at their own will, without being prompted.
